Nicole Taylor, a country music singer and member of the musical trio Taylor Red, has died at the age of 35 following a battle with breast cancer. Her death was announced by her sisters and bandmates, Natalie and Nika Taylor, on Monday, November 2, 2026.
Taylor died on September 28 at her home in Nashville, Tennessee. Her sisters shared the news publicly in an emotional video, describing themselves as heartbroken and remembering their sibling as a central part of their lives and musical journey.
Nicole was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer in 2022. According to her sisters, the illness was initially responding to treatment, and she was at one point told there was no evidence of disease. However, the cancer later progressed to stage four.
Despite the difficult diagnosis and demanding treatments, Taylor continued to approach life with determination and optimism. Her sisters recalled that she encouraged those around her not to live in fear and continued travelling, working and enjoying life during treatment. She even maintained her involvement in CrossFit while undergoing chemotherapy.
A musical journey with her sisters
Nicole grew up alongside her triplet sisters, Natalie and Nika, with whom she developed a lasting musical partnership. The three formed a group in 2010, initially performing under the name Red Roots before later becoming known as Taylor Red.
Their music combined country influences with a family-centred approach that helped them build an audience. The sisters released their debut album, Red Roots, in 2011, followed by additional projects in the years that followed. Their online presence later introduced their music and personalities to a wider audience.
Her sisters remembered Nicole as their fearless leader, recalling that she was the first among them to learn an instrument, beginning with the drums. Her role in the group extended beyond performing, reflecting the close bond the three shared as family members and creative partners.
Family and loved ones remember Nicole
In announcing her death, Natalie and Nika spoke about their grief and the faith that helped their family through the illness. They said they had hoped Nicole would recover while alive, but expressed comfort in believing she was now at peace.
The sisters also thanked the people who supported Nicole throughout her illness, including those who offered prayers and the medical professionals involved in her care.
Nicole’s death marks a profound loss for her family, friends, fellow musicians and the listeners who followed Taylor Red. Her story has also drawn attention to the challenges of living with an aggressive cancer diagnosis while trying to maintain hope and a meaningful connection to everyday life.
Her family has confirmed that a private funeral has already taken place. Further memorial information and tributes may be shared through the family’s own announcements.
As loved ones remember Nicole Taylor, they are left with the memory of a singer, sister and performer whose determination and commitment to living fully remained central to her story.
